Bio
Jaime Owens serves as the Director of Marketing and Communications at the National Policing Institute. She is responsible for leading and implementing innovative marketing and communications strategies that enhance the Institute’s mission and brand.
Jaime holds a dual B.A.Sc degree in Marketing and Public Relations from the University of Miami with concentrations in Public Health, Ecosystem Policy and Affairs as well as Sociology with an emphasis on Africana Studies. She also holds several certificates from Cornell University and Harvard Business School in corporate communications, executive leadership, change management, business management in STEM, business analytics as well as diversity, equity and inclusion. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration.
Jaime joins the Institute with a diverse mass communications background which includes work in public health, financial services, education, technology, labor relations, proposal management, healthcare management, and legal compliance.
She has over a decade of experience directing local and nation-wide marketing campaigns that specialize in brand management, membership and product marketing, crisis communications, public relations, growth strategies, as well as media relations.
With a commitment to further elevate the workplace, Jaime is currently a member of the Institute’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. She has previously served as the founder and chairwoman of the Diversity and Inclusivity committee at a top five pension fund. After being unanimously appointed to the role, she spearheaded enhanced business practices, professional training, community outreach, and cultural awareness initiatives.
