NPI is a research and training institute, not a political advocacy organization. We don’t advocate for or against legislation. Our focus is on evidence-based research, evaluations, and independent reviews (like after-action reviews) to help agencies improve practices, safety, and community trust.

Public safety is interconnected, and our approach reflects that reality. While law enforcement is central to our work, our research and training projects often include fire departments, EMS, emergency management, hospitals, schools, and community organizations.
