Bio

David Waltemeyer is a 31-year law enforcement professional currently serving as the deputy chief of the Melbourne, Florida, Police Department. During Deputy Chief Waltemeyer’s law enforcement career he has served in state, local, and municipal law enforcement agencies. He has served as a patrol officer, criminal investigator, media relations coordinator, and all levels of supervision. Deputy Chief Waltemeyer has served as a Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) assessor and subject matter expert for several law enforcement research organizations. He is also an associate adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus.
