Abstract

In August 2020, at the request of the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners—and with funding provided by the Los Angeles National Policing Institute—the National Policing Institute was engaged to conduct an independent after-action review, assessment, and analysis of the actions of the Los Angeles Police Department in response to First Amendment assemblies and protests in the City of Los Angeles from May 27 through June 7, 2020.
